Manchester City plane evacuated in fire scare ahead of Champions League trip

Manchester City’s staff flight to Romania for their Champions League qualifier against Steaua Bucharest has been evacuated in a fire scare.
Journalists travelling to the match said smoke started to fill the cabin and passengers, which included City staff but not players, were ordered on to the runway at Manchester airport.
Fire engines attended the scene, but all City representatives were safely evacuated.
City face Steaua over two legs in their Champions League play-off, with a place in the group stage at stake.
