A Corentin Tolisso brace helped Bayern to a 3-1 win, which wasn't enough to unseat PSG at the top of Group B with the French side progressing as the group winners.
Keen to vindicate their performance in Paris in September, Bayern dictated the pace of the game from the outset. The Bavarians took the lead when David Alaba headed a James Rodriguez cross to Robert Lewandowski’s feet on the edge of the six-yard box.
The Pole appeared to be offside, but the linesman did well to see that Dani Alves had played him on for his 17th Champions League goal at the Allianz Arena.

PSG were only allowed sparse opportunities to break through in the first half, most notably when Neymar shot across goal after receiving an inspired through-ball from Kylian Mbappe. The Brazilian chose to shoot instead of picking out team-mate Edinson Cavani for a simple tap-in.

Bayern doubled their advantage when James delivered another inspired cross—this time it was club record-signing Corentin Tolisso who rose above the pack to head past Sven Ulreich.

The visitors were much brighter in the second half, particularly when Mbappe headed in the consolation - thanks to a wonderful flicked assist from Cavani.

The well-taken effort helped the 18-year-old become the youngest ever Champions League player to reach 10 goals.

Bayern earned their third of the evening when Kingsley Coman easily beat Dani Alves on the left flank, before putting the ball at the feet of Tolisso.

The Frenchman struck low and hard for his second of the evening, but was lucky to avoid his second yellow card when a moment of simulation went unpunished shortly after.

Despite the victory it is PSG who go through topping the group thanks to a superior head-to-head record.

TALKING POINT

How far can PSG go in the Champions League? The Parisians look set for a deep run in the competition this season, but do they have the mettle to go all the way? Would this Bayern team be able to stop them in a knockout scenario?
