Johnnie Jackson has signed a one-year contract extension at Charlton.
The Addicks skipper, 33, will now stay at The Valley until at least the summer of 2017.
Chief executive Katrien Meire was "delighted" to sort out the midfielder's new contract and told Charlton's official website: "As well as continuing to lead by example on the pitch, he is a fantastic ambassador for the club off it.
"I am very pleased that Johnnie has committed himself to another season at the club."
Jackson made his 200th appearance for the club earlier this season and scored his 50th goal in last week's win at Birmingham.
