Hayes, whose team sit second in the Women's Super League and face Montpellier in the Champions League quarter-finals next March, recently ruled herself out of contention for the England vacancy.
The 41-year-old signed a three-and-a-half-year deal with Chelsea in October and is relishing the prospect of motherhood.
"I'm massively excited to share the news that I am expecting twins in June," the Eurosport co-commentator said. "I've got my biggest life challenge ahead of me and I'm going to have two wee ones popping into the world some time in June. Please hold out until the end of the season... I'm very excited to fulfil a dream of mine in becoming a parent."
Chelsea Ladies are also in the hunt for FA Cup and Continental Tyres Cup success, meaning a busy few months lie ahead.
Londoner Hayes is confident of getting all the support she needs, after admitting the early months of pregnancy have been challenging.
"I don't understand why people call it morning sickness, because that's not true - it lasts more than just the morning!" she said. "Thankfully I'm in an environment around women who truly understand!"
She told Chelsea's website: " The club have been absolutely brilliant since I told them the news. When I sat down and spoke to (chairman) Bruce Buck about it, he was absolutely thrilled for me and I know I'll get as much support as I need this season to make sure I can deliver two healthy children - as well as delivering four trophies come the end of the season."
