County capture Stead

Former Blackburn and Huddersfield striker Jon Stead has joined Notts County.

The 32-year-old, who spent most of last season on loan at Bradford, has agreed a two-year deal subject to a medical.

Stead has also played for Sheffield United, Sunderland, Ipswich, Bristol City and Derby and scored one goal in 11 appearances for England's Under-21s.

He memorably scored against Chelsea and Sunderland during Bradford's run to the FA Cup semi-finals last term.
