England fans asked to join French in singing La Marseillaise at Wembley in show of solidarity

With the England v France friendly now going ahead as planned on Tuesday, those in attendance are set for a stirring show of support in the wake of the Paris attacks.

The suggestion has built momentum on Twitter after footage was posted on the social media site of players, officials and fans showing their support for the Paris victims by playing the French anthem before the Serie B clash between Livorno and Vicenza on Saturday afternoon in Italy.

Many on Twitter applauded the gesture and put forward the notion of doing the same on Tuesday night at Wembley, now that it has been confirmed that the England-France exhibition will go ahead.
