68'

Young again misplaces an easy pass, this time to Rooney 30 yards from goal.

Lingard comes on for Mata, in Mourinho's first change of the evening. Mata chats to the physio on the way off, but the Spaniard seemed to be moving freely.

64'

Sivakov stops a Zlatan cross from the left from a threaded Mata pass down the channel. Zlatan questions the Hungarian referee whether that was a handball by the Zorya number three.

62'

Petriak drifts in off Young but Bailly gets a crucial foot on the ball to intercept the pass. Petriak would have been through on goal save for that interception.

61'

Cheers as Zorya attack but substitute Bonaventure is unable to control in the area and Pogba can clear.

60'

Mkhitaryan dinks in a ball towards Mata but the Spaniard is too small to get a header on the ball and Levchenko catches.

59'

Sivakov clears a rather optimistic driven cross towards Rooney on the edge of the area.

57'

SAVE: Levchenko, awkwardly, blocks a Zlatan snapshot. United look well on top now after Mkhitaryan's goal.

-

And here is the Mkhitaryan goal - it is an absolute beauty. What technique, and what balance.

52'

Mkhitaryan picks up the ball down the left channel, but crosses towards Zlatan when a shot may have been the better option.

-

47'

United have three players ahead of the ball waiting for a Young cross, but the United full-back finds a white shirt.

  • 2nd Half
46'

Zorya kick off the second half - there is a big red flare already in Levchenko's penalty area. The security at this stadium is not exactly brilliant if fans can bring in fireworks and flares.

  • End of 1st Half
45'

SAVE: Rooney steams past Kharatin and shoots on the run from outside the box, but Levchenko tips over. From the corner, Rojo shoots over the bar and that is the last action of the half. It ends Zorya Luhansk 0-0 Manchester United.

44'

Rooney drifts inside from the right but his shot doesn't really threaten Levchenko, who saves easily to his right.

43'

Bailly on Bezborodko and then Young make excellent challenges in midfield after Zlatan loses the ball further up the field.

41'

Opanasenko comes in from the right-back position to nick the ball off the sluggish Rooney and concede the corner. Pogba cannot get a clean header on Rooney's corner from the right.

40'

More bobbles in the middle of the pitch, this time Mkhitaryan is shown up. It is very cold in Odessa tonight, and the pitch is very hard.

38'

SAVE: Young wins a corner down the right off Sukhotskiy. Bailly sees a spectacularly overhead kick from Zlatan's header down from Rooney's corner saved by Levchenko.

37'

Rafael Forster fails to cut out a floated ball into the Zorya area, but Mata shoots wide from a narrow angle down the left channel.

36'

Pogba is caught in possession, and though Rojo half blocks the breakaway, Karavaev has a volley from the edge of the area that causes Romero a moment of panic.

35'

United players are getting very distracted by off-field issues.

34'

Chaykovsky makes a good challenge to nick the ball off Pogba in the Zorya box following a one-two with Zlatan.

32'

Petriak is just unable to keep the ball in down the left flank following a Bailly mistake - United must be wary of losing their concentration at the back.

31'

United win a free-kick as Ljubenovic has a hack at Herrera. From there, Pogba cuts inside from 35 yards and shoots well wide when there were three or four red shirts to pass to.

Manchester United's Henrikh Mkhitaryan in action with FC Zorya Luhansk's Yevhen Opanasenko
30'

A very loud firework has been thrown on to the pitch just near Romero - the United goalkeeper looks a bit shaken by that.

29'

United have a lot of possession, but perhaps they need a bit more pace in moving the ball. Mkhitrayan then totally messes up a ball over the top - Zlatan looks most unimpressed.

28'

Mata drills in a cross from the right towards Mkhitaryan but the Spaniard gets that all wrong and it drifts out for a Zorya goal-kick.

27'

Mkhitaryan evades Sivakov 25 yards from goal but his touch is heavy and Zorya can clear again.

26'

Zorya clear a deep Blind corner towards Zlatan at the far post.

-

Good news from Rotterdam on the qualification front, though United can't win the group if Fenerbahce win that match tonight.

23'

Pogba drifts inside and plays in Rooney down the left channel, but the United skipper doesn't quite have the pace of old to get the ball before it crosses the goal line.

22'

Zlatan looks most disgruntled about being penalised for a foul on Ljubenovic in midfield. Replays suggest that it was a soft decision from the Hungarian referee Tamas Bognar.

21'

Opanasenko then clears Rooney's second successive corner, and they are unable to make anything of the break and United win the ball back on the halfway line.

20'

This is actually like a training ground exercise. Opanasenko heads clear Mkhitaryan's cross towards Zlatan for a corner. The same player then crowds out Pogba from Blind's corner.

19'

United win the ball back almost immediately, and Herrera crosses from the right for Pogba, who heads over when well placed from near the penalty spot.

18'

Zlatan miscontrols on the edge of the box from Mata's drilled cross and is shepherded out of the area.

17'

Good build-up play in midfield ends with a shot from Pogba that whistles just wide of Levchenko's goal. United did really well to drag the Zorya defence around there.

16'

Young cuts in from the right, but his left-footed cross is poor and beyond Rooney and Zlatan.

15'

Patient possession from United until Mata sees Zlatan peel off his defender, but the Spaniard overhits the centre and Levchenko can catch easily.

14'

Zorya playing with pretty much everyone behind the ball, so United need to stretch their opponents down the flanks. Expect Ashley Young to get forward more.

12'

Herrera is unable to trouble Levchenko with a volley from the edge of the area, after Zorya twice clear a Blind cross into the box towards Zlatan.

11'

Zorya lost their league match to Dnipro at the weekend, and have failed to record a win in their last six matches.

10'

SAVE: Romero makes a good stop to beat out an Ihor Kharatin effort from the edge of the area following the Zorya throw, then Ivan Petriak shoots into the side netting with the follow-up effort.

9'

Mkhitaryan blocks a Karavaev cross from the right - the Armenian then looks around to ask where was the cover.

7'

Rooney sets up Pogba from 30 yards, but his shot is a grubber and well wide of Levchenko's goal. The France midfielder obviously looking to test the Zorya goalkeeper, making just his third appearance of the season.

6'

Blind accidentally hits Oleksandr Karavaev in the face with the ball. Not the night for a stinger like that - Blind, by the way, is wearing short sleeves! Everyone else is wearing long sleeves.

5'

The ball gets to the edge of the United box, but Bezborodko is unable to control and Bailly can clear. Herrera then fouls Artem Sukhotskiy on the halfway line, but Forster is unable to find a white shirt with the free-kick.

4'

Mata tries a lovely reverse pass to Zlatan beyond right-back Yehven Opasenko but Levchenko is out quickly to cover.

3'

The pitch is in poor shape, it has to be said. It looks like a park pitch, with a bit dug out halfway into the United half.

2'

Herrera is unable to control Ibrahimovic's low cross from the right and Zorya can clear. Moments later, Levchenko, on his European debut, hacks clear a bobbling ball under pressure from the Swede.

We are off in Odessa in temperatures that could hit -3C,. Zorya are in white shirts and shorts, United in their red shorts and black shorts. United kick off from right to left.

17:55

Henrikh Mkhitaryan says a win in Odessa will increase confidence in the United dressing-room ahead of the Premier League clash with Tottenham at Old Trafford on Sunday. "We are not going to play for a draw,” the 27-year-old, who scored a hat-trick for Shakhtar Donetsk at the Chornomorets Stadium in August 2012, told MUTV. "It would be good to win before the game against Tottenham – good for our mentality, good for the atmosphere in the dressing room. We will try to win and be ready for the next game as well."

17:50

United boss Jose Mourinho says the pitch is playable. "It is not so bad - it will be difficult to play, and it will be hard and fast," he told BT Sport. "The quality of passing and control will not be the same, but I don't think it is dangerous conditions."

17:45

Anthony Martial says the United players will not let the freezing temperatures and rock-hard surface affect their game. "It's down to us to come to terms with that, adapt to the environment we find ourselves in and get the victory we need,” he told MUTV. "You prepare as well as you can and rest on the plane, but a lot of it can be in your head. It's how you approach things mentally.”

Anthony Martial was left out of Manchester United's squad for the Europa League clash with Feyenoord
17:40

Just a reminder, the match is being played in Odessa, a 12-hour car journey of 600 miles from Luhansk, because of the conflict in eastern Ukraine. And it goes ahead only after a Thursday morning pitch inspection on a frozen pitch, with Uefa officials stating that the playing surface had improved overnight after hot air was blown under the covers.

17:35

BackPage Images have a photo of some minor trouble already between a Ukrainian and a Manchester United fan. About 2,000 Zorya fans have made the 12-hour journey from Luhansk, with up to 1,000 United supporters making the trip to Odessa as well. That leaves another 24,000 'neutral' supporters, and scope for trouble - Fenerbahce and Feyenoord supporters were reportedly attacked during their group-stage matches.

17:30

Since Sir Alex Ferguson's retirement at the end of the 2012-13 season, United have won just two of their 13 European away fixtures, with eight defeats and three draws.

17:25

“We lost at Feyenoord, which we should have won," United boss Mourinho said."In Fenerbahce, another difficult place to go, we conceded in the first minute which gave them the best conditions to win. If we want to qualify, then we cannot lose three matches away. We need points."

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho hopes the game beats the weather in the Ukraine
17:20

Manchester United are unbeaten in seven matches involving Ukrainian teams (five wins, two draws), but have lost their last five away games in Europe, including Europa League defeats to Fenerbahce and Feyenoord this season.

17:15

United will progress to the last 32 with a draw, and would also go through with a defeat if Feyenoord fail to beat Fenerbahce in Rotterdam. Zorya will finish bottom of the group regardless of the result against United.

Marcos Rojo comes in for Luke Shaw at left back, with Ashley Young starting on the opposite flank in place of Antonio Valencia. In midfield, Ander Herrera replaces Michael Carrick. Carrick, Valencia and Matteo Darmian, all starters at Goodison Park on Sunday, have been excused the trip to Ukraine.
