However, the Portuguese declared that the club had 'lots of enemies' and poured scorn on the fixtures before declaring that fatigue would see his side lose their weekend fixture against Middlesbrough.
“We have lots of enemies," the Portuguese manager told BT Sport. "Normally the enemies should be Rostov but we have a lot of enemies."
"It is difficult. It's difficult to play Monday night with 10 men, it's difficult to play now, it's difficult to play 12 o'clock on Sunday. We have a lot of enemies.
"The boys were fantastic. I can imagine that some people will say we should play better and we should score more goals.
The reality is that we have lots of things going against us. And we have to fight, so the boys are amazing boys.
Mourinho then turned his attentions to Boro.
He added: “Probably we lose the game on Sunday. But we will try our best."
"I will remember forever when I spoke to the Uefa delegate in Rostov. He told me if any of our players gets injured, the insurance is paid.
"Whoever decided the Monday and Sunday games probably thinks the same way."
