France to play Argentina

France will play a rare international against Argentina at the Stade de France, the French FA announced on Friday.

The two sides - who have between them appeared in five of the last eight World Cup finals - have only played each other nine times since meeting during the World Cup in 1930.

Argentina have won four times while three matches have resulted in a draw. France's only success came the last time they met with a 2-0 win in a friendly in Paris in May 1986.

The French FA confirmed that the match at the Stade de France will take on February 7th and there will also be a second friendly "somewhere in Europe but outside France" by 2009.
