Juergen Klinsmann has been approached by both the Mexican and U.S. football federations to coach their national sides, an advisor to the former Germany coach revealed.
Roland Eitel revealed the offers were both "serious", though was unable to give any indications as to Klinsmann's future plans, commenting "who knows what will happen in the next few years."
The 42 year-old became the focus of attention of a nation when he led Germany to the semi-finals of the World Cup, leading to an outbreak of 'Klinsmania', though afterwards stepped down from the post after admitting to being "burnt out" by the work involved.
His desire to remain living with his family in California has sparked rumours that he could succeed Bruce Arena as coach of the U.S. football team. Arena's contract was not renewed after the World Cup, in which the Americans went out in the first round, while the President of U.S. Soccer, Sunil Gulati, has reportedly identified Klinsmann as his number one target for the coaching job.
Mexico are still without a permanent replacement for Ricardo La Volpe, after he left to take over at Argentinian giants Boca Juniors.
