An unlikely brace of goals from defensive midfielder Mathieu Flamini saw Arsenal beat Spurs 2-1 in the Capital One Cup third round.
Flamini pounced on Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s parried shot to give the Gunners the lead before Calum Chambers deflected into his own net to draw Spurs level.
Spurs looked to be in the ascendancy and created chances of their own before Flamini fired a sensational volley past Michel Vorm to settle matters.

The result means that Arsene Wenger keeps alive his hope of winning a trophy that he has never won, having guided his side to two previous finals.
KEY MOMENTS
26’ – GOAL! Spurs 0-1 Arsenal: Oxlade-Chamberlain’s shot is parried into the path of Flamini by Vorm and he slams the ball home.
30’ – CHANCE SPURS: A good ball from Kane finds Rose on his left and he does well to cut inside Debuchy before dragging his shot tamely wide.
56’ – GOAL! Spurs 1-1 Arsenal: It’s an own goal from Calum Chambers, turning the ball into his own net from Nacer Chadli’s cross.

65’ – GOAL-LINE CLEARANCE: A fantastic scissor kick from Harry Kane beats Ospina but Gibbs is on the line to head clear. In fact, half his body is in his own net when he clears the ball!
78’ – GOAL! Spurs 1-2 Arsenal: Alexi Sanchez’s cross ricochets into the air and Flamini latches onto the ball dropping out of the sky to thump a brilliant volley past Vorm.
KEY STATS
Mathieu Flamini's last two League Cup games have both come against Tottenham at White Hart Lane, but they were 3,164 days apart.

The Gunners haven't been eliminated in an away third-round tie since 1991/92, when Coventry knocked them out at Highfield Road. They have progressed in their 11 away third-round ties since.
TALKING POINT
One Flamini goal is as rare as hen’s teeth but two? What is more likely. Five Lewandowski goals in nine minutes or two from Flamini goals in 52? You decide.
MAN OF THE MATCH
Mathieu Flamini (Arsenal): Not often he scores one, let alone two. That was the difference.
