Tight at the top of League Two as Plymouth and Northampton both win

Argyle remain leaders on goal difference after a 3-2 home success against Stevenage. Carl McHugh headed the hosts into an early lead but Charlie Lee soon equalised. Another header from Gregg Wylde restored Plymouth's advantage before Craig Tanner netted to extend it. Lee replied again for Stevenage.

Northampton came from behind to win 2-1 at struggling Dagenham & Redbridge.

Christian Doidge put the home team ahead after 62 minutes but quick-fire goals from John-Joe O'Toole and Ricky Holmes gave the Cobblers a fifth straight away league victory.

With promotion rivals Oxford, Portsmouth, Bristol Rovers and Accrington all not in action on Saturday, Wycombe had the chance to propel themselves right into the mix for a top-three finish. However, they lost 1-0 at Hartlepool to a Scott Fenwick goal.

Wimbledon are just outside the play-off places on goal difference after beating fellow top-seven hopefuls Mansfield 3-1. Matt Green gave the Stags the lead but Lyle Taylor, Jon Meades and Adebayo Azeez completed the turnaround.

Carlisle could have climbed into the play-off positions with a win but they were held to a goalless draw at Barnet and it was also 0-0 between Luton and Cambridge at Kenilworth Road.

York stay bottom after a 1-0 home loss to Newport, who did their own survival hopes no harm with victory courtesy of Aaron Collins' early strike.

Yeovil remain in the bottom two after throwing away the lead to lose at Morecambe. Goals from Kevin Ellison and Shaun Miller cancelled out the lead given to the Glovers by Darren Ward's 69th-minute effort.

Exeter warmed up for next week's FA Cup replay against Liverpool at Anfield with a 3-1 victory at Leyton Orient, who saw Jay Simpson miss twice from the penalty spot.

Ollie Palmer put Orient in front in the first minute but Jayden Stockley struck either side of Tom Nichols' goal before Simpson slammed a 80th-minute penalty against a post and saw another effort saved by Bobby Olejnik four minutes afterwards.

Jamie Fullarton's first game as Notts County manager was a 1-0 success at Crawley, with Filip Valencic netting in the 63rd minute.
