Gary Neville’s Valencia sign Denis Cheryshev from Real Madrid

Valencia have signed Denis Cheryshev on loan from Real Madrid, the Liga club have announced.

The Russian, 25, had been linked with move to Liverpool and Sevilla, but moves to the Mestalla until the end of the season.

The forward came through the youth system at Madrid but has only ever played two league games for the first team, spending the last two seasons out on loan at Sevilla and Villarreal respectively.

“He’s a great player and a guy who works very hard. He needs to play and needs time, so I wish him all the best,” said Real boss Zinedine Zidane prior to the loan deal.

“If he is offered the chance to leave, I’d be delighted for him. We’ll see what happens.”
