Barcelona v Real Madrid: Why isn't El Clasico on TV? Odds, team news. match schedule, manager quotes
Why can't UK viewers watch El Clasico on TV? Plus team news, match facts, quotes, odds and more ahead of the Liga clash between Barcelona and Real Madrid.
WHEN IS THE MATCH?
Kick off is at 15:15 (UK time) on Saturday.
15:15? WHY ON EARTH IS IT ON AT THAT TIME?
Apparently, the game kicks off at 15:15 (16:15 Spanish time) because it maximises the game’s exposure across the world.
However, that comes at a cost to UK fans – and it is kind of Burnley’s fault.
Back in the 1960s Burnley chairman Bob Lord successfully persuaded fellow owners and the FA that it would be to their financial detriment if games were televised live on Saturday afternoons, as it would have a negative impact on attendances.
Legislation was passed which then became part of the 1996 Broadcasting Act which outlaws live televised football between 14:45 and 17:15 on Saturdays.
WHERE IS IT BEING PLAYED?
WHY SHOULD I CARE?
Real Madrid last won the league in 2012, but with a victory against an out-of-sorts Barcelona at the Camp Nou they will be an astonishing 10 points clear at the top of the table.
Madrid are unbeaten in 31 games while Barcelona somehow emerged from the Anoeta with a 1-1 draw despite being completely outclassed by Real Sociedad.
There is an unbelievable amount riding on this game.
CAN I WATCH IT ON TV OUTSIDE UK?
Barcelona left back Jordi Alba is doubtful due to ankle and knee problems, the club said on Monday.
Alba started Sunday's 1-1 Liga draw at Real Sociedad but missed Monday's training session and tests confirmed a heavy bruise on his right knee and a right ankle strain.
"How he evolves will determine his availability for the next few games," said a Barca statement.

A hamstring injury has limited the Spain international to just six league starts this season.
Turkish midfielder Arda Turan missed Sunday's game with flu but has recovered.
Real Madrid have been dealt a huge blow with the news that forward Gareth Bale has been ruled out for up to four months. Toni Kroos remains out with a fractured metatarsal but Raphael Varane could return after a knee injury.
However, Casemiro will make his comeback from injury in the King's Cup home match against Cultural Leonesa, coach Zinedine Zidane said on Tuesday.
The Brazil international fractured a bone in his left leg in September and has not played since.
Zidane's side go into the round-of-32 return leg against third-tier Cultural Leonesa on Wednesday holding a 7-1 advantage from the first game.
Zinedine Zidane "The idea is for Casemiro to play tomorrow. It will be his first game (since the injury) and then we shall see on Saturday. In any case, he has returned to the group and in theory, he is read to play."
Luis Enrique: “The changes in results are to do with me. I think this squad is the best in the last three years but the manager is the same rubbish, therefore this is the only difference. I said our squad is the best but I did also say we had to confirm this with good results and that hasn’t happened yet.
“My opinion is the same now, however there are so many games still left to see if this squad can get brilliant results.”
