James Rodriguez has confirmed that he will not be leaving Real Madrid this month.
James bounced back from his Club World Cup disappointment, which saw him admit he was considering his future at Madrid, by scoring twice in a 3-0 victory over Sevilla on Wednesday, and the midfielder is eyeing a successful 2017 with Los Blancos.
“All of us in this team want to play and we all go through bad times, but now a new year has started for me. I’m staying, I’m staying at Madrid,” he said after the game.
“My goals? I just want to play well when I get the chance, doing good things like I did tonight and chipping in with goals.
“We played well, despite our absences, and the most important thing is that we picked up a good result.
“Still, the tie isn’t and we have to go to Seville with great focus and intensity.”
