Real Madrid midfielder James Rodriguez has said that he wants to stay at the club for the future but that in football you never know what could happen.
Rodriguez, who has been at Real since 2014, has struggled for game time this season with manager Zinedine Zidane opting to use the likes of Lucas Vazquez and Isco when the first-choice attack of Karim Benzema, Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo hasn't been available.
WIth Zidane preferring a 4-3-3 to a 4-2-3-1 Casemiro has been playing regularly with Mateo Kovacic and Marco Asensio also used as well.
It has led to plenty of speculation that Rodriguez could be leaving the club but speaking after the 4-1 win over Eibar he stressed that he wanted to stay with the club.
"When I am given opportunities I always try and do well. This is all I think about," he told reporters.
“I want to always be here. It's clear that in life and football you never know what is going to happen but I want to remain here."
The competition for places has clearly impacted Rodriguez this year but he was typically positive when speaking about his team-mates.
“It's always a plus to have such great players,
“If the BBC [Bale, Benzema and Cristiano] is available, it's always going to be important.
"We are a close-knit group, together, and this was very much reflected on the pitch.
"We're united as always, we're a healthy group with some incredible people. We always come out to win."
