That result means Real Madrid have stretched their lead at the top of La Liga to six points, as well as equalling the record set by Barcelona for the longest unbeaten run by any La Liga side. It's now 39 games since Zidane's side lost, and on that basis they won't be losing again any time soon.

- End of 2nd Half
FULL TIME: Real Madrid 5-0 Granada. The referee decides not to add on any stoppage time and the full time whistle blows on what was a commanding win for Real Madrid.
The away side are knocking the ball about themselves with relative ease, but Real Madrid are standing off them and are essentially waiting for the final whistle on this one.
This has become a training exercise for Real Madrid in the second half. Granada have offered nothing at all. Zidane might have hoped for more of a test from them, actually.
Ronaldo has moved right across the frontline all game long. I think he pretty much does what he wants in this Real Madrid. Zidane gives him the freedom and responsibility to do that.
This actually isn't Granada's worst defeat of the season so far. They lost 6-0 to Atletico Madrid earlier in the campaign. One more goal from Real Madrid will equal that.
That wasn't too certain from Navas. The cross came into the Real Madrid penalty area, but the Costa Rican managed to parry it under very little pressure. Not the best keeping.
This result will take Real Madrid six points clear of Barcelona at the top of La Liga, and seven points clear of Sevilla. Zidane's side have enjoyed an excellent start to the season.
Just for a moment Granada inject some urgency and intensity to their play, and it almost catches Real Madrid off guard. But the final pass was lacking and the away side can't get the shot away.
- OffFranck TabanouGranada CF
- OnEzequiel PonceGranada CF
The third and final change from Granada. Tabanou comes off, maybe to protect him getting a red card.
Ronaldo is getting more and more desperate to grab a second goal of the afternoon. To be fair to the Real Madrid number seven, he hasn't really had the chances. Not much going.
It should be mentioned that Kroos was probably withdrawn at the break because he was one booking away from being suspended for next week's Liga clash against Sevilla.
- Yellow cardFranck TabanouGranada CF
And now Tabaou enters the book for what was a ridiculous lunge on Carvajal. That could have very easily have been a red card for the Granada player.
- Yellow cardCasemiroReal Madrid
Real Madrid receive their first booking of the match. That was a needless tackle from Casemiro on Marquez.
JUST OVER! Ronaldo fooled us all. It was actually James that took the freekick from the edge of the box, but the Colombian puts his strike just over the crossbar. Not too far away.
- Yellow cardGabriel SilvaGranada CF
That's a booking for Silva. He handled the ball and Ronaldo will have the freekick chance from about 20 yards out.
It just illustrates the depth that Real Madrid have that they can bring on a player like Coentrao who has hardly featured over the past couple of seasons. He's a good player!
- OffMarceloReal Madrid
- OnFábio CoentrãoReal Madrid
There's the change and Zidane gives the final 20 minutes to The Forgotten Man of Real Madrid.
It looks like Coentrao could be about to come on for Real Madrid. This could be his first league appearance of the season. He has only played in the Copa del Rey in this campaign.
Just a little bit of background - so Marquez, who came on for Granada just a few moments, has a son with a slightly unusual name. His son's name is Modric. That's right. Modric.
- OffJeremie BogaGranada CF
- OnAlberto BuenoGranada CF
Another change for the away side, who look like they just can't wait for the full time whistle here.
James will be keen to get his name on the scoresheet in the final 25 minutes of this match. The Colombian has been assured of his future at the club, but he will still want to impress.
Ronaldo feels he should have had a penalty kick. The Real Madrid number seven was indeed brought down in the area, but there didn't look to be much in the incident.
- OffUche AgboGranada CF
- OnJavi MárquezGranada CF
There's the first change of the match from the away side. This is a damage limitation exercise for them now.
That goal means that Real Madrid have had 21 different goalscorers this season. Casemiro doesn't get on the scoresheet that often, but that just illustrates the depth of this team.
- GoalCasemiroReal Madrid
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Real Madrid 5 (57 mins - Casemiro) Granada 0. There's another goal for the home side. Real Madrid have five this afternoon! Casemiro was completely unmarked at the back post and turns home a James freekick.
See, told you...
That has been quite an astonishing return to action for Real Madrid in 2017. They have scored seven goals in two games. Some people expected them to be weary after the Club World Cup.
Nacho has taken it upon himself to perform the Ramos role at times today, storming up the pitch to play as something of an additonal forward. He's not bad at dribbling, actually.
There is very little in the way of tempo or intensity to this match now. Real Madrid won the contest a long, long time ago, and so both sides are just going through the motions.
That was another opportunity for Benzema. The ball fell to him just inside the penalty area, but the French striker was off balance and he skies his effort well over the target.
Carvajal is enjoying himself down the right wing. Granada are giving him so much space, but they are showing very little intent on changing that or closing him down at any point.
That's probably the sensible thing to do. There's need to risk Isco when this game is already won and so Zidane can now wrap the playmaker in cotton wool. He'll get an ice pack.
- OffIscoReal Madrid
- OnMarco AsensioReal Madrid
Indeed, there's the change from the home side and Asensio comes on to replace Isco.
I don't know whether his injury was a factor in missing that last chance, but Isco is hobbling now and Zidane appears to be preparing Asensio to come on for the playmaker.
THAT WAS THE CHANCE! Isco was presented with the perfect opportunity to clinch his first ever hat trick, but he heads wide from just a few yards out. Carvajal's cross was perfect.
Ochoa makes another save. The Granada goalkeeper has steadied himself since making the mistake which led to the second goal. This time he stops Benzema from distance.
It's not hugely surprising that James came on at the break, but it's surprising that Isco has remained on. It became clear in the final few minutes of the first half that he has picked up a knock.
- OffToni KroosReal Madrid
- OnJames RodríguezReal Madrid
Zidane decided to make a change at the break. James comes on for Real Madrid. Kroos is the one who makes way for the Colombian.
- 2nd Half
The second half is under way at the Bernabeu! Real Madrid are 4-0 up against Granada.
What did you make of the first half at the Bernabeu? On this basis are Granada certain to be relegated this season? How many can Real Madrid score here? Tweet me!
- End of 1st Half
HALF TIME: Real Madrid 4-0 Granada. The home side were utterly dominant in that first half. There's no way back for Granada. Real Madrid could rack up a cricket score here.
The camera pans to James on the bench, who is perhaps a little unhappy he wasn't included in the lineup today. He was the best player on the pitch against Sevilla during the week.
I just wonder whether with this game already settled Zidane might take the opportunity to rest some of his key players in the second half. Some changes coming after the break?
This has been a leisurely game for Real Madrid, as the commentator just described it. That's a suitable term. There has been no tempo. No intensity. Real are dictating everything.
Zidane will be really pleased with what he has seen from his side so far. This win (which it will surely be) will make it 39 games unbeaten in all competition. That's a club record.
Ochoa makes another save, this time palming round the post to deny Isco from the edge of the area. The playmaker looks really sharp this afternoon. He's on a hat trick.
We're averaging more than a goal every 10 minutes here, which means at the current rate Real Madrid might make it into double figures. Everyone loves a 10-0 (TEN) result.
This is becoming an embarresment now. Real Madrid are just so much better than Granada and they are scoring at will. The away side can no absolutely nothing to stop them.
- GoalIscoReal Madrid
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Real Madrid 4 (32 mins - Isco) Granada 0. This is becoming a rout now. Modric gets in behind the opposition defence and passes right across the face of goal for Isco to bundle home from close range.
OCHOA MAKES A SAVE! Finally, the Granada goalkeeper makes a stop. Carvajal unleashed a drive from the best part of 20 yards, but Ochoa did well to get down low to save.
Real Madrid are toying with Granada now. They have slowed down the pace and tempo of the match, knocking the ball around the midfield area with complete ease.
You have to question when Granada's starting lineup consists of nine players on loan whether they are really invested in the trouble the club finds itself in at the moment.
Replays for the second goal show that Benzema might have been marginally offside when the shot from Modric came in. There's not much in it, but yeah, he was a yard offside.
The defending from Granada in this game so far has been atrocious. Their marking has been slack and there hasn't really been the effort you'd expect of a team fighting the drop.
- GoalCristiano RonaldoReal Madrid
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Real Madrid 3 (27 mins 0 Cristiano Ronaldo) Granada 0. Real Madrid have their third and Ronaldo has his first. It was the Ballon d'Or who headed home from close range, but Marcelo created it with the cross.
There's no real way back for Granada now, and that must be quite a daunting thought for them given that they still have more than an hour to play at the Bernabeu against the Liga leaders.
That was some horrendous goalkeeping. The shot from Modric was angled into the corner, but there was no real power in it. Yet Ochoa parried straight back into the centre.
- GoalKarim BenzemaReal Madrid
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Real Madrid 2 (21 mins - Karim Benzema) Granada 0. There's the second goal. Real Mdarid have doubled their advantage. Modric's shot is parried out by Ochoa and Benzema was on hand to poke home the rebound.
Granada have shown some nice touches when in possession of the ball, but it's what they are doing with it when they move into the final third that is costing them so far.
That was some nice combination play from Real Madrid down the right side, setting up Ronaldo for the shot. But his effort is deflected out for a corner kick. That channel is proving fruitful.
Modric is so important to the way Real Madrid play. Remember when he was voted the worst signing in the history of the club? Oh how things change. Dramatically.
Of course, Samper is on loan from Barcelona, so that mistake from him will have pleased the Bernabeu crowd. Much is expected of the youngster. He's better than that.
So how will Granada respond to losing that goal? They had set themselves up to defend and perhaps hold out for a draw. Now they are behind, they will be expected to react.
That finish vindicates the selection of Isco. Some might have expected James to start in that position after his display during the week, but Isco got the nod and has justified it.
That was the fist real chance of the match, but Real Madrid had been cranking up the pressure on Granada before that goal. Isco did well to take the opportunity when he was handed it.
- GoalIscoReal Madrid
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Real Madrid 1 (13 mins - Isco) Granada 0. There's the opening goal and unsuprisingly it has gone the way of Real Madrid. Isco was played through on goal and managed to squeeze a shot underneath Ochoa.
FIRST SHOT ON GOAL! That's the first effort on goal, and it comes through Marcelo. The left back won the ball high up the pitch and struck an effort towards the target, but it flashes over the bar.
That's a different approach to the one they took against Sevilla during the week, when they didn't give the away side a second to think on the ball. They were right on top of them.
It has taken them a while, but Granada are finally settling into this match. They are now knocking the ball about the back with relative ease. Real Madrid are standing off them.
Of course, still no Bale for Real Madrid. He is still recovering from a serious injury, but the Welsh winger is expected to be back in training in the next two to three weeks. Positive.
It looks like Granada are playing with a back five this afternoon. They are going ultra defensive, which worked for them at the Camp Nou. They only lost there 1-0 a few weeks ago.
Zidane has his first choice midfield unit back, with Casemiro, Kroos and Modric all starting for Real Madrid this afternoon. Those three give them perfect balance in the centre.
Benzema and Ronaldo were rested for the Copa del Rey game during the week, but they are both back in the starting lineup this afternoon. Isco completes the attacking line.
Ramos and Pepe are still out for the home side, with Varane and Nacho starting as the centre back pairing. Those two did well during the week against Sevilla. Zidane has stuck with them.
Real Madrid returned to action with an impressive Copa del Rey win over Sevilla during the week. Zidane's side looked refreshed and back to their best after the Club World Cup.
The signs aren't exactly positive for Granada. They have won only once this season and it's been a long, long time since they won at the Bernabeu. They sit second bottom of La Liga.
