Real Madrid have confirmed a deal has been agreed with Flamengo for 16-year-old wonderkid Vinicius Junior in a deal that will see his release clause of €45 million paid in full.
The talented youngster shot to prominence in March of 2017 when he helped Brazil win the U17 South American Championship, scoring seven goals and being named as the best player of the tournament.
In May he made his debut for the Flamengo senior team before signing a new contract that raised his release clause to €45 million.
Real's statement said they had agreed to acquire his rights from July 2018, when the player will turn 18 and he will stay with Flamengo until July 2019.
However, if both parties agree he could move to Real sometime between the two dates.
Flamengo later released information that confirmed the full release clause had been met.
