Reports: Marco Verratti 'not returning' to PSG amid Barcelona rumours

Marco Verratti has informed Paris Saint-Germain he will not be returning to the club as he seeks a move to Barcelona, say multiple reports.

The front page of Monday’s El Mundo Deportivo leads on the 24-year-old’s request to move to the Camp Nou this summer while Gazzetta dello Sport also claims he has informed the Parisians of his intentions to leave.

Both newspapers report a deal of €100m could be possible despite the French club’s continued insistence they will not sell the Italian at any price.

The reports note that Barca “have the desire to make Verratti the heir to Andres Iniesta or make him central to their new cycle.”
