Speculation was rife that the pair could walk away after contract talks dragged on beyond Euro 2016.
However, those fears are now dispelled, with O’Neill’s entire backroom staff committed to the project for another two years.
"I have signed a new deal," O’Neill said at a press conference after naming his squad for the qualifiers against Georgia and Moldova.
"It was never an issue. Roy and the backroom staff have followed suit. We're delighted."
Ireland emerged from a so-called ‘Group of Death’ at Euro 2016 and almost upset hosts France in the last 16, eventually succumbing to a quickfire Antoine Griezmann brace.
