The current Tottenham coach was quizzed on his future on Thursday amid reports suggesting the Argentine is a possible replacement for the outgoing Luis Enrique at Barcelona.
However, the former Espanyol player and manager said the love for his former club means managing Barcelona would not be possible – likewise with Arsenal given his current affinity with Spurs.
Pochettino told reporters:
I am an Espanyol fan. I love Espanyol. It’s like now Tottenham for me. It would be impossible to move to Arsenal – so [managing Barca] would be impossible.
Pochettino has been in charge at Spurs since moving from Southampton in 2014 and under the 45-year-old’s guidance, the north London club have finished fifth and third in the Premier League respectively.
The former Argentina international committed his long-term future to Tottenham back in 2016, extending his current deal to 2021, while also being instrumental in securing new contracts for key players including Dele Alli, Harry Kane and Hugo Lloris.
