Alexis Sanchez has caught the eye of a financial powerhouse, while Frank Lampard could join the England coaching setup. It’s Wednesday’s Paper Round…

China's Super League to lure Sanchez?

Fresh from his impressive display in Arsenal's glorious Champions League victory on Tuesday night, Alexis Sanchez and his possible whereabouts next season return to Wednesday's back pages. But in something of a curve ball the Daily Star suggests the Chile international could be lured away from the Premier League by a mega-bucks deal with a club from China's Super League. The Mirror reports that Sanchez is being offered £400k per week by Chinese clubs, causing the delay on the signature Arsenal fans have been waiting months for.
Paper Round's view: This whole negotiation business is dragging on a bit isn't it, Arsene? The Frenchman has said this week that it's not all about the Benjamins, but also the care and attention players can expect to receive at the Emirates Stadium - care that he believes is appreciated by his players. However, money talks especially in the Premier League, and we anticipate an uneasy wait for Arsenal's dusty chequebook. But in terms of this particular stack of cash? We're not even going to dignify this rumour with a response.

Lampard to join Three Lions?

The Daily Star report that former Chelsea and England midfielder Frank Lampard has been spotted chatting with newly appointed England manager Gareth Southgate about a coaching role with the national team. The story comes as Sammy Lee, appointed as assistant manager by Sam "67 days in post" Allardyce, announced he would leave his position.
Paper Round's view: Widely expected to join Southgate in England's backroom team is Steve Holland, who he worked with on the Under 21 side. However, a number of other people have been in the frame for jobs alongside Southgate, one of whom is Steven Gerrard, who recently announced his retirement. Asked directly about Stevie G at his first press conference in post as the permanent manager, Southgate said the door at St George's Park was "always open" to former players. Perhaps Lampard, as not only the winner of every major competition at club level with Chelsea, but also the author of a series of children's books, would be a fitting appointment.

Top Gunners

Arsenal dominate the back pages of Wednesday's papers after doing the unthinkable and actually winning their group in the opening stage of the Champions League. A hat-trick for Lucas Perez saw the Spaniard score as many goals in 47 minutes of Champions League action as Spurs did in their entire dismal campaign. Alex Iwobi added insult to injury in the 54th minute, but obviously they let Basel claw one back - this is Arsenal, after all. Paris Saint-Germain's unexpected 2-2 draw against Ludogrets gifted victory to the Gunners in the group as a whole.
Paper Round's view: Arsenal have something about them at the minute, fresh off the back of a tremendous 5-1 victory over West Ham on Saturday. This is not the natural order of the north Londoners, so used to finishing second in their group and exiting the competition in the final 16 - could this be their first campaign in six years to progress to the quarter-finals?

Arsenal staff attacked at London Stadium

The Mirror reports another violent incident at the London Stadium during West Ham's humiliating 5-1 defeat by Arsenal on Saturday. In a season plagued by not only miserable results for the Hammers, but embarrassingly violent scenes in their new home, it is alleged by the Mirror that a cameraman for Arsenal's in-house TV channel was punched by a West Ham fan. The club are now said to have called in the police to track down the culprit, as Arsenal said their staff member - who looked to have ended up with a nasty cut - was recovering from the incident.
Paper Round's view: Another week, another story of trouble at the London Stadium - if we're bored of these stories by now, imagine how fans actually attending the matches are feeling? It can't be a pleasant atmosphere for the bulk of West Ham fans. Whatever the many excuses bandied around, the board needs to get a grip.
