Arsenal defender Gabriel was sent off for confronting Diego Costa and handed a one-match ban by the FA after accepting a charge of improper conduct while Costa served a three-match suspension after he was found guilty of violent conduct involving a joust with Laurent Koscielny.
"The charge was for failing to ensure their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion from the 44th to the 47th minute of the game at Stamford Bridge on 19 September 2015," said the FA.
Spain forward Costa is due to return from his suspension against Aston Villa on October 17.
Both teams admitted the charge with the difference in the fines down to previous disciplinary records, said the FA.
Chelsea won the bad-tempered contest 2-0 at Stamford Bridge.
