Alexis Sanchez will be PFA Player of the Year, predicts Thierry Henry

Henry, now a TV pundit with Sky, believes that the Chilean will fire the Gunners to their first title in over a decade.

“I think the player of the season will be Alexis Sanchez,” said Henry at a fantasy football launch.

“I’m just saying it because he has already had an amazing season.

“If Arsenal want to win the league he has to have that type of season, and I think he can.”

Sanchez won the Copa America with Chile over the summer so will have had a shorter break than he'd have hoped for, and Arsene Wenger confirmed weeks ago that the player will miss the opening match of the season because of the playing time he's had.

But Sanchez's energy and commitment suggest that he won't be out for long, and fans will hope that he can continue with the form that helped make Arsenal arguably the form team of the second half of the season in the Premier League.
