Chelsea moved 11 points clear at the top of the Premier League table courtesy of a 3-1 win against Swansea, in a game notable for a costly error from Lukasz Fabianski.
It looked to be business as usual for Chelsea who dominated throughout and took the lead through Cesc Fabregas who, on his 300th Premier League appearance, did well to dig Pedro’s cross from out underneath him and then prodded home from close range.
However they failed to kill the game off despite having multiple chances and were made to pay on the stroke of half-time when Ferndando Llorente was left unmarked from what at first appeared an unthreatening free-kick and steered a terrific header into the top corner.

Swansea were improved after the break and frustrated the hosts until Fabianski’s grave error. He let Pedro’s 25-yard-shot squeeze under his body when he should have saved comfortably and Diego Costa put the result beyond doubt when he volleyed in six minutes from time.
With Manchester City not in league action this weekend Chelsea's points advantage at the top will remain in double figures for some time, while Swansea are still 15th on 24 points.

TALKING POINT - Chelsea’s title procession rolls on

It’s wasn’t their most convincing display, but Chelsea ground out the win and as the cliché goes that’s the sign of champions. The Blues are the best team in the league by some distance and with 12 games left it’s hard to see them dropping the points necessary to lose top spot, let alone one of the chasing pack winning all of their remaining fixtures.

MAN OF THE MATCH

Cesc Fabregas (Chelsea): With N'golo Kante taking care of the defensive duties, Fabregas was free to roam all over the pitch and he pulled the strings for Chelsea. His goal was well taken and reminiscent of Frank Lampard in how he arrived late into the box, but it was the way he kept Chelsea ticking over that was most impressive and he was central to all of their best moves.
