Leicester complete the signing of Daniel Amartey from Copenhagen

The deal, which is still subject to league and international clearance, will see the Ghana international sign a contract until 2020.

The 21-year-old Amartey can play both right-back and in midfield.

“It’s a great pleasure to join Leicester City," Amartey said. "I know the club have been interested in signing me for some time and that was a big part of my decision to come here.

“All over Europe, people are talking about Leicester City and how well the club is doing in the Premier League. The team plays exciting, attacking football and I’m looking forward to being part of it.”

Amartey, who has been in the country since the start of the week, trained with his new teammates on Friday - although it remains to be seen if his paperwork is processed in time for him to be available to face Stoke City at the King Power Stadium on Saturday.

The deal is believed to be worth in the region of £5 million.
