Champions Leicester City and runners-up Arsenal are still awaiting their first wins of the season after the sides played out a 0-0 draw at the King Power Stadium.
Arsenal somehow avoided conceding a late penalty as Mark Clattenburg failed to spot Hector Bellerin clearly bringing down Ahmed Musa right at the end.
The champions also thought they may have earned a penalty in the first half when Laurent Koscielny challenged Danny Drinkwater just after Petr Cech had denied Jamie Vardy with a fine save.
Vardy had earlier blazed a good chance over the bar and both keepers needed to be on their mettle. A draw leaves them both in the bottom half of the table.

TALKING POINT

A tale of two penalties. Mark Clattenburg may possibly have got the benefit of the doubt on the first one but he looked to be badly positioned to miss Bellerin’s left leg bringing down Musa.

83’ – SCHMEICHEL SAVE: Sanchez plays in Ozil but Schmeichel narrows the angle and pulls off a good save.

KEY STATS

The last time Arsenal started the PL season with one point in two matches was in 2011/12. Arsenal then started with a goalless draw against Newcastle and a 2-0 loss against Liverpool.
Leicester City are now unbeaten in 16 successive home matches, their second longest streak in the English top flight after a run of 28 between April 1928 and October 1929.
For the sixth time, this fixture ends in a goalless draw. The last time was in 20 January 2001. Arsenal ended as champions as Leicester were relegated finishing last that season.
