Liverpool held by Southampton as Jurgen Klopp waits for first win

Premier League, Anfield - Liverpool 1 (Benteke 77) Southampton 1 (Mane 86)
Jurgen Klopp was denied his first win as Liverpool manager as Sadio Mane grabbed a late equaliser for Southampton in a 1-1 draw at Anfield.
Mane finished from less than a yard out with five minutes left, cancelling out a majestic Christian Benteke header that appeared to put Liverpool on course for three points.
Liverpool have drawn all three games under Klopp, and a share of the points was a fair result after a game in which both sides showed plenty of attacking intent but little composure in front of goal.
Benteke, on as a half-time substitute for Divock Origi, broke the deadlock with a powerful header from James Milner's cross.
But Southampton drew level when Gaston Ramirez headed across goal and Mane got the final touch. Mane was sent off in stoppage time for a second bookable offence but there was no time for Liverpool to capitalise on their numerical advantage.
KEY MOMENTS
20' CHANCE! Steven Davis almost prods the ball in from close range after Liverpool fail to deal with a cross from the left.
30' CHANCE! Milner goes close for Liverpool! The England midfielder exchanges passes with another, Adam Lallana, before drilling a low shot just wide from 20 yards.
39' CHANCE! Van Dijk should give Southampton the lead! A deep free-kick finds the Dutchman unmarked at the back post, but he can only force Mignolet to palm around the post. But that should have been the opening goal.
55' CHANCE! Moreno drills the ball wide of the far post when the smarter ball would have been the cross for Lallana.
77' GOAL! Liverpool 1-0 Southampton: Benteke scores for Liverpool with a bullet header, thumping in Milner's cross from the right.
86' GOAL! Liverpool 1-1 Southampton: Mane scores for Southampton! A deep cross is headed back across goal by Ramirez and bundled into the net on the line by Mane.
90'+2 RED CARD: A second yellow card for Mane, two minutes after his first, and he is off!
KEY STATS
Sadio Mane has bagged five goals in his last five games for Southampton in all competitions.
Liverpool had nine efforts on goal in the first half, but only one was on target.
Since his Premier League debut in September 2012, Christian Benteke has scored a joint-high 14 headed goals, level with Arsenal's Olivier Giroud.
TALKING POINT
Should Benteke have started? It's easy to say he should have done with the benefit of hindsight, but Benteke caused Southampton many more problems than Origi did. While Origi is a good prospect, even a half-fit Benteke has to be a better option, and he is sure to start the Reds' next game at Chelsea.
MAN OF THE MATCH
Christian Benteke (Liverpool) - May have only played 45 minutes and may not be 100% fit, but caused Southampton problems as soon as he came on. Scored an absolute beauty of a header, timing his leap and aiming his header perfectly.
