Galatasaray want Oxlade-Chamberlain - Galatasaray are prepared to make a big bid for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, per The Mirror. The Turkish club have already enquired about him and have made it clear that they have the money to land the Arsenal man. Galatasaray want to get away from signing older stars and instead aim younger, which has brought them to the 22-year-old.
Paper Round's view - The premise behind this report is that Galatasaray want to change history and make a statement about the new direction of Turkish football. That may be so, but it's tough to believe such a massive change is coming until it does - even if they do have a lot of money. Based on history, there's no way in earth Galatasaray sign Oxlade-Chamberlain so, until they do, this looks like a laugher.
Tottenham back in for Berahino - Tottenham Hotspur could make a third and final bid for West Bromwich Albion forward Saido Berahino, according to the Daily Mirror. Spurs' interest in Berahino was thought to have ended last weekend when they signed Heung-Min Son from Dortmund, but they could be back in with a £22m deadline offer.
Paper Round's view - Spurs are still short of attacking options despite Son's arrival - a situation highlighted by Harry Kane's slow start to the season. Son can hardly be expected to hit the ground running, so a renewed effort to land Berahino makes sense. The sticking point remains money. West Brom surely want more than the £22m being dangled in front of them, and Spurs chief Daniel Levy is not known as a man to pay over the odds for players.

Or maybe they want Perez instead - The Daily Mail tells a different story, with Newcastle's Ayoze Perez the man most wanted at White Hart Lane. "Tottenham and intermediaries are continuing to explore the possibilities," claims the Mail, but they had better hurry up ahead of the 6pm deadline. A £15m bid might be enough to persuade Mike Ashley to part with Perez.
Paper Round's view - Perez is a good player and, at 22, is likely to improve. But he's not exactly going to set hearts racing among Tottenham fans. As a back-up option to Berahino, it's serviceable enough, but £15m sounds fairly steep.
Spurs also looking to land Kouyate - With Victor Wanyama looking increasingly likely to stay at Southampton, Tottenham have switched their attention to West Ham's Cheikhou Kouyate as they look to bolster their options in central midfield. Kouyate, who joined West Ham for £7m last year, is reportedly keen on a move to White Hart Lane and could be available for £15m.
Paper Round's view - Well, it could be a busy day for Tottenham, couldn't it? Kouyate has certainly made a strong start to the season, and it's increasingly clear at Spurs need a central midfielder. Whether West Ham would be willing to part with their man is another story. With a move to the Olympic Stadium looming, the Hammers dare not risk relegation, and selling a lynchpin midfielder - to London rivals no less - would certainly undermine their efforts to stay in the top flight.

Aston Villa trying for Adebayor again - Emmanuel Adebayor might still be on his way to Aston Villa. The Telegraph believe that the Villans are back in on the Tottenham striker, who had been due for a West Ham move, but that deal fell apart. Adebayor has been a target for Tim Sherwood all summer and the Villa manager has spoken highly of the striker, but hasn't yet been able to lock down a transfer for him.
Paper Round's view - Aston Villa has agreed to a deal for Adebayor earlier in the summer and were willing to take on his £100,000-per-week wages, but then the player decided he didn't want to leave London. Villa still need help up top and it would reason that they'd still like to sign Adebayor, but it's a matter of whether Adebayor will go. Adebayor undoubtedly wants to get paid, but his contract is also up next summer and may be open to a move away from London if it comes with a new contract that guarantees his future.
