The supermarket chain is said to be interested in joining the race for the naming rights for the Olympic Stadium, which the Hammers will move into for the new season after leaving Upton Park over the summer.
There had been a deal anticipated between the London Legacy Corporation (LLDC) and Indian company, the Mahindra Group.
According to the Daily Mail however, that £6million deal is not certain to go ahead with the period of exclusivity set to expire next month.
If the deal finally falls through, Tesco is said to be keen on talks with the LLDC.
The stadium, which was used at London 2012, cost £701million to build using public expenditure. It’s capacity has been reduced from 78,000 to 60,000.
West Ham will play their first match at their new home on Thursday 4 against Slovenian team Domzale in the return leg of the Europa League fixture.
