Cesc Fabregas: Antonio Conte is a special coach
Cesc Fabregas has hailed Antonio Conte as “a great Coach with a special philosophy” and has bad news for Milan. “I never thought about leaving Chelsea.”
Fabregas was heavily linked with Milan in the run up to deadline day last month, after he initially struggled for appearances under Conte.
But the Spaniard played a key role in Chelsea’s 4-2 win against Leicester City on Tuesday, his two goals sending the Blues into the English Football League Cup fourth round.
“I’m sorry to be playing a little, but I know I’m at the right level to be a part of this team,” he told Cadena COPE.
Asked about Conte as a coach he replied: “He’s a great coach with a special philosophy, we like him."
Speaking about his future at the club, Fabregas said: “I live everything with serenity and maturity. Of course I’d like to play more, but I know I can be important even just for 15 minutes.
“I’m training like never before, and mentally I feel sensations that I’ve never experienced.
“I have a great desire within, to play and work. I’m doing my best to convince Conte and ensure that I can stay here."
He added: “Even in the summer, when there were so many rumours, I never thought about leaving Chelsea.”
