We’ve donned our soothsayer hats to predict who will triumph in the Premier League title race. Will it be Chelsea or Tottenham?

The Premier League title race was blown wide open on Sunday afternoon as Manchester United beat Chelsea to keep Tottenham just four points adrift at the summit.
Think we’re getting carried away?
Chelsea’s lead has been sliced by six points over the last four games, with a defeat at home to Crystal Palace suggesting they are not as unflappable as everyone first thought.
United swamped the Blues’ chief threat, sticking the excellent Ander Herrera on Eden Hazard, providing future opposition with a blueprint: press high and deny their best player any space.
Who will win the Premier League?
But can Tottenham take advantage? If they’re going to win the Premier League, this is surely the time. Wembley Stadium almost certainly awaits next season – the setting of their most diabolic football – while they will be adjusting to a new home in 2018-19. And after that? Well, they’ll have sold all their best players by then.
So, without further ado, we’ve gone through the remaining fixtures and, using nothing but our unrivalled gift of foresight, predicted the remaining six gameweeks.
Strap yourselves in and prepare to be infuriated…

Apologies, not the most imaginative start.
Chelsea increase their lead to seven points with a routine win over Southampton, but Spurs – dreaming of a first title since the 60s – show Arsenal how to win at Selhurst Park. As you were at the top.

Let the backlash begin…
‘What, this is ridiculous. How can Spurs possibly beat Arsenal?’
Chill. Let us explain the prophecy. In the last North London derby at White Hart Lane, can you honestly conceive any other outcome than a Spurs victory – particularly against this galling Arsenal side? Of course not. Tottenham fans unveil a gigantic ‘Wenger In’ tifo before kick-off, with the match punctuated by chants of “Arsene Wenger, we want you to stay”.
Then there’s Everton, rejuvenated since their Merseyside derby defeat in early April, throwing a spanner into the works. The Toffees deny Chelsea maximum points to keep alive their hopes of sneaking into next season’s Europa League. Why? Well, they’re second in the Premier League home table – with just one defeat at Goodison Park this season… and that’s pretty much our entire reasoning.

Gameweek 35: May 5 & 8

Breaking news: Tottenham go top of the Premier League after downing West Ham in a ridiculously-scheduled Friday night game.
That’s as good as it gets though as Chelsea down pretty-much-relegated Middlesbrough on Monday to restore a two-point cushion. Not that the Official Spurs Shop care. They hastily release a ‘That Time We Topped the Premier League for 72 Hours’ DVD, with fans eager to cash in on their temporary glory.

It's the final game at White Hart Lane! Expectation is throbbing as Spurs face Manchester United in the knowledge victory will take them top on goal difference after Chelsea’s earlier draw.
But this is a vintage Jose Mourinho fixture. The party pooper oversees a defensive masterclass to clinch his favourite result, a draw, as the most redundant unbeaten run in history rumbles on.

Antonio Conte ruins his favourite shirt celebrating Chelsea’s winner against Watford, one that moves them within one victory of the title, while Spurs damage Craig Shakespeare’s hopes of landing the Leicester City job on a full-time basis.
We go to the final day…

It’s official: Chelsea are Premier League victors! Basement dwellers Sunderland mark David Moyes’ final game in charge with a typically uninspiring performance, with the game’s notable moments including an N’Golo Kante penalty and a farewell substitute appearance for John Terry.
Over on Humberside, news of Chelsea’s early goals at Stamford Bridge filter onto the away terrace. The Spurs kitman hastily hides the pre-prepared ‘Tottenham: Champions of England’ celebration t-shirts, but – inevitably – someone spots them and, yet again, Mauricio Pochettino's side somehow finish the season a bigger laughing stock than Arsenal.
