United back in for Kroos

A report from the Independent after Manchester United's win over Blackburn Rovers says that the Red Devils are open to trying to sign Toni Kroos even if Real Madrid aren't interested in selling. This comes as doubts continue over the future of Antoine Griezmann, who could sign for United, Real Madrid or stay with Atletico Madrid.
Paper Round's view: Signing Kroos the summer after they signed Pogba would be an incredible statement from United and to land Griezmann as well would be incredible. The former seems a perfect replacement for Michael Carrick whilst the latter could be the long-term successor to Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Conte wants perfect finale for Terry

Antonio Conte has insisted that Chelsea captain John Terry started against Wolves because he deserved to, not because of sentiment. Conte also said that he would love for the season to end with Terry lifting the FA Cup but the defender's future won't be discussed until the end of the campaign.
Paper Round's view: Conte is clearly a manager who can see the value of keeping an experienced leader in the dressing room and fans will be hoping that their captain gets one more year, even if that doesn't seem likely. He may not be first choice but Terry has a key role to play for Chelsea between now and the end of the season.

Wenger says Sanchez must accept responsibility

Arsene Wenger has refused to excuse Alexis Sanchez from blame for Arsenal's recent poor form, saying that the team lose together. Sanchez has cut a frustrated figure in recent weeks and speculation is rife about his possible departure. Wenger said that he feels an FA Cup defeat to non-league Sutton won't make it more difficult to persuade the Chilean to sign a new deal.
Paper Round's view: Wenger's spiel about losing as a team is admirable but it's hard not to sympathise for Sanchez at the moment. He's not been perfect but he's been better than most in an Arsenal shirt. The next few months are critical with regards to his future.

Wenger debates changes

Wenger is planning to make changes for the game against Sutton as he is wary of risking some of his bigger stars on the non-league team's artificial pitch. That means that players like Rob Holding, Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Jeff Reine Adelaide could all get a start. Wenger said his team would be mentally prepared but they are wary of the hunger of their opponents.
Paper Round's view: This is a massive gamble from Wenger. Defeat is a disaster on so many levels for Arsenal. This is Sutton, not Bayern Munich and fans will not be happy that their best chance of silverware will have been thrown away. Some youngsters may play but surely there's got to be a fair level of experience as well?
