Real plot £150m move for Kane

After describing Harry Kane as the “complete player”, Zinedine Zidane could put Real Madrid’s money where his mouth is with a £150m move for the Tottenham striker.
The Mirror claim that the Spanish giants have put the England star on their wanted list ahead of Real’s clash at home to Tottenham on Tuesday night in the Champions League. Meanwhile, the Times claim Spurs value their star striker at more than £200m.
Paper Round’s view: From talk of Kane being a Spurs man for the rest of his career, it appears the ears of Europe’s finest have finally pricked up. ‘Kane is not world class till he does it on the world stage’ is the cry – where better to prove everyone wrong than at the Bernabeu. The pressure Gareth Bale has faced since joining Los Blancos could deter Kane, but the trophies that have gone with it could just sway him.

Jose talks at United?

Manchester United are ready to offer Jose Mourinho a new deal, according to the Daily Mail. Following reports that the Portuguese could be tempted by a move to PSG, United fear he will not stay as long as first intended. Mourinho’s contract has 18 months left, with the option to a further year, and United want talks with their manager before the season is over.
Paper Round’s talk: Mourinho left the door open to PSG, but it was no surprise to see given that he was talking on French television. He rarely hangs around and history will tell us that 18 months is a long time if you’re Jose Mourinho.

Arsenal happy to sell Ozil

Arsenal will look to offload Mesut Ozil in the January transfer window, the Mirror reports. Arsene Wenger has conceded the German could leave – along with Alexis Sanchez – but following Saturday’s loss to Watford, Ozil’s attitude has been called into question, and the club no longer have hopes of the midfielder wanting to extend his stay beyond the summer.
Paper Round’s view: Having offered almost £300k a week to Ozil, and to see that crazy offer rejected, tells you all you need to know. It’s best for all parties that Ozil moves on. It wouldn’t be a loss if he goes in January if he carries on the way he has in recent games.

Barcelona want Alonso

Barcelona have set their sights on Chelsea defender Marcos Alonso as a long-term replacement for Jordi Alba, the Daily Mail reports. Alex Sandro, Raphael Guerreiro and Luis Gaya are also said to be on the transfer shortlist, though the Chelsea man leads the way having impressed for the Premier League champions since joining from Fiorentina last year.
Paper Round’s view: It’s no surprise to see Alonso linked with Barcelona, but it would be a surprise to see him go if a starting spot is no guarantee. Chelsea may be in a rut but they’re perfectly capable of turning their bad form around – and they need the back five to rediscover their form.
