Harry Kane netted his 25th goal of the season as Tottenham thumped Bournemouth 4-0 to make it seven league wins in a row and cut the gap on leaders Chelsea to four points.
Mauricio Pochettino's men rarely looked troubled as they roared into a commanding lead courtesy of two strikes in three first-half minutes from Mousa Dembele and Heung-Min Son.
Kane then added a killer third just after the break before substitute Vincent Janssen put the icing on the cake in stoppage time to seal a 12th straight home victory in the league for the Lilywhites, and pose the question of Antonio Conte's Blues ahead of their trip to Manchester United on Easter Sunday.
Kane was starting for the first time since sustaining an ankle injury in March, and he marked the occasion by joining an elite group of forwards to net 20 Premier League goals in three consecutive campaigns.
Bournemouth never looked like securing a first league success on their travels in 2017 and remain just seven points clear of the dropzone. The Cherries will now turn their attention to a run of fixtures against sides in the bottom half of the table, as they bid to secure their topflight status for another season.

TALKING POINT

How will Chelsea respond this time? Last weekend Tottenham beat Watford in an early kick off on Saturday afternoon. Chelsea responded by winning at Bournemouth. This week it's a similar story, but this time Pochettino and his players will feel there is more chance of the Blues slipping up in what is a tougher task on paper against Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday. Time is running out for Spurs to up the ante. If Chelsea win against the Red Devils they will feel they will have passed a significant hurdle and surely dealt a major blow to Tottenham's hopes. If they don't, it could yet get interesting in what has been a one-horse race for so long this term.

MAN OF THE MATCH

Christian Eriksen (Tottenham). At the heart of Tottenham's best moves. Composed in possession and deservedly picked up another assist.
