Zlatan Ibrahimovic compares himself to Benjamin Button: 'I was born old and I will die young'

Ibrahimovic, 35, opened the scoring against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light as he cut back onto his right foot and curled an effort past Jordan Pickford into the far corner.

He is by some distance the top scorer for Manchester United this season, 18 ahead of the next highest scorer Juan Mata, and he is the fourth highest scorer in the Premier League.

Speaking to Sky Sports after the game Ibrahimovic said that his age was not a concern and that he feels younger as he gets older.

"Today was a good win and we have to keep focus and keep working and keep believing we can reach the top four. We believe in it and we will do everything we can to reach the top four.

"At the end the best team will win so the game was good and we got the 1-0 and the red card. I couldn't see if it was a red card or not but he gave it and then we played with one more. Sometimes it's more difficult but sometimes it gives you the advantage because you have one more.

"I train hard. I believe in myself and I know what I am able to do. I'm not worried. The older you are, the more experienced, the more intelligent and you don't waste energy on things you don't need. I feel like Benjamin Button. I was born old and will die young."

Henrikh Mkhitaryan added a second for United in the second-half against the Black Cats before Marcus Rashford completed the scoring late on.

The result means that United go back ahead of Arsenal into fifth, four points behind fourth-placed Manchester City with a game in hand.
