Philippe Coutinho made his frst start of the season in a much-changed Liverpool team to face Burnley in the Premier League.

The Brazilian playmaker was the subject of a protracted summer transfer saga but failed to secure a move to Barcelona - he came on a sub in Tuesday's 2-2 Champions League draw against Sevilla.

Coutinho was one of seven changes as Jurgen Klopp rotated his squad - Simon Mignolet. Trent Alexander-Arnold, Ragnar Klavan, Andrew Robertson, James Milner and Daniel Sturridge all came in.

Nick Pope started in goal for Burnley, deputising for long-term injury absentee Tom Heaton.
