‘I want to get one over on Manchester United’ – Louis van Gaal urges English giant to appoint him

Louis van Gaal has admitted he could be lured back to football management – although only if he can enact revenge on Manchester United.
The Dutchman was infamously axed by United after leading them to the FA Cup in 2016, with Jose Mourinho waiting in the wings to replace him.
And the 66-year-old has now admitted he resents the club following his acrimonious departure.
"I will probably not manage a club anymore," Van Gaal said in Rotterdam on Sunday night.
I would make one exception - if a big English club comes for me, then I would do it. Because then I can get the chance to get one over on Manchester United.
Van Gaal’s two seasons at Old Trafford were largely frustrating for fans, who felt the team had strayed from Sir Alex Ferguson’s attacking philosophy.
He added that United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward should have consulted him before approaching Mourinho behind his back.
"Woodward should have come to me and we could have worked on that," he said.
"I have nothing against Jose."
