HUDDERSFIELD SUB

A debut to remember for Mounie comes to an end as he is replaced by Van La Parra.for the final few minutes.

85'

Five minutes until full-time and the Huddersfield fans are currently singing 'Premier League, you're having a laugh' to the remaining home supporters. Plenty of Palace fans have already left.

84'

Benteke forces another Palace corner. The Belgian striker rises highest from the subsequent set-piece, but he can't find the target with his header.

82'

OVER!

Quaner is back to fulfil his defensive duties and concedes a corner. Tomkins smashes over from the resulting set-piece though. More frustration for Palace.

79'

It was a classic counter-attack goal by Huddersfield. Quaner broke forward for the new boys, rolled a pass to Mounie who finished from 15 yards. Brilliant.

OVER!

The corner falls kindly for Dann inside the Huddersfield penalty area, but the Palace defender blasts it well over the bar. Kind of sums up their day, doesn't it?

The hugely impressive Jorgensen in the Huddersfield defence is in the right place to head over a dangerous Palace cross. Corner to follow...

70'

HUDDERSFIELD SUB

Collin Quaner replaces Palmer for the remaining 20 minutes.

67'

Huddersfield have looked very comfortable in the last few minutes. Palace need an injection of inspiration from somewhere.

64'

Huddersfield win their ninth corner of the game. But Mooy, who has been excellent and laid on his side's two goals, crosses straight into the arms of Hennessey.

62'

Palace's back-three is caught out yet again as Mounie is played through with only the goalkeeper to beat... but Fosu-Mensah races back and makes a vital sliding challenge.

61'

Superb football from Zaha as he surges down the line before delivering a teasing low cross into the Huddersfield area. However, only Benteke is in support, and the Terriers can easily clear.

59'

Loftus-Cheek is now operating in a deeper midfield position for Palace, and he's dictating the pace of the game at the moment. Every move stems from the Chelsea loanee.

58'

CHANCE!

Quick feet from Zaha allows him an inch of space to have a shot from a tight angle. However, Lossl is equal to it and makes the stop.

57'

Huddersfield 'keeper Lossl thinks about coming for Puncheon's looping cross, but then thinks better of it and his defence deal with the danger.

54'

SAVE!

Benteke wriggles free as the corner delivery comes in, and his header is well saved by Lossl. Palace have another corner, and they're beginning to exert real pressure on the Terriers.

53'

Now Zaha is released behind the Huddersfield defence, but Lowe gets back to make the challenge. Smith is perhaps fortunate not to be shown a second yellow as he appeared to commit a foul in the build-up to that Palace move.

52'

Mooy's passing and vision has been remarkable this afternoon. And it's another delightful through ball which picks out Ince, but a Palace defender is there to guide it out for a corner.

49'

CHANCE!

Loftus-Cheek picks up possession from deep. He feeds Townsend on the channel who fizzes a ball across the face of the Huddersfield goal, but it's just too far for the out-stretched Benteke. Better from Palace.

48'

CLOSE!

Lowe tries his luck from distance, and Hennessey can only palm it into the path of Mounie. However, the Huddersfield striker drives it over the bar.

46'

If you thought Huddersfield were going to sit back and defence for the remaining 45 minutes, well you thought wrong. Kachunga forces a corner for the Terriers, but Palace deal with it.

Two minutes of additional time will be played at the end of the first half.

45'

Benteke heads the corner across the face of goal, but none of his Palace team mates can get onto the end of it and Huddersfield survive.

44'

Palace step up their search for a goal as the half-time whistle nears. And they win a corner just now as Smith heads away a dangerous cross.

42'

Huddersfield's defence looks firmly secure, but the direct running and pace of Zaha is causing a problem. The winger runs into a pocket of space, but his shot is straight at Lossi.

41'

REMARKABLE

39'

Van Aanholt wins a corner for Palace but it's headed away by none other than Mounie, Huddersfield's goalscorer. He is enjoying himself out there.

37'

SHOT!

Palace need some inspiration and Zaha is doing his best to provide it. He wriggles free and unleashes a shot at goal, but it's inches wide.

On second glance, Lossi actually made a tremendous save, but the referee failed to spot it and gave the goal-kick.

35'

PENALTY APPEAL!

Puncheon plays through Zaha, but the Palace winger is hauled down by Jorgensen. Jon Moss isn't interested in the appeals and signals play on!

34'
33'

Zaha tries to make his mark on the game as the Palace winger speeds down the channel and his attempted cross is blocked by Billing, who has been very impressive for Huddersfield. The resulting corner comes to nothing.

31'

CLOSE!

Huddersfield should score, again! Jorgensen is unmarked at a corner, but the Dane sends his header wide.

29'

Palace are all over the place in defence, absolutely all over the place. A kick-out from Lossi finds Ince and suddenly he's through on goal. However, Dann rescues the situation with a crucial recovering tackle.

GOAL! Huddersfield 1-0 Crystal Palace.

The Terriers are off the mark in the Premier League - but it'll go down as a Joel Ward own-goal. Mooy whips the cross to the near post where it's flicked on and stabbed home at the far post by Jorgensen, but the final touch comes off Ward.

21'

Huddersfield are again on the attack and asking questions of the Palace defence. Mooy goes past Ward on the flank, but the full-back makes a recovering tackle and guides it out for a corner.

19'

Wayne Hennessey is called into action once more as Billing lets fly with a half-volley from 20 yards, but the Palace goalkeeper is equal to it - comfortable save.

15'

Palace deal with the corner delivery with relative ease. Huddersfield boss David Wagner will be encouraged by how his team have started though.

14'

Ince has been Huddersfield's most lively attacker thus far, and it's his latest cross which causes a bit of panic in the Palace penalty area. Dann does well to clear it behind for a corner though.

-
12'

Jon Moss gives Huddersfield skipper Smith a telling off about the amount of fouls his team mates are committing in the early stages.

10'

The Huddersfield players want to stop Wilfred Zaha, before he even thinks about running at their defence - he's brought down by Jorgenson on half-way and Palace now have a free-kick.

8'

Straight up the other end, and Palace win a corner. Benteke was through, but Schindler watched him all of the way and make a crucial challenge. The resulting set-piece is played straight into the arms of Lossl.

7'

The eagle-eyed Jon Moss awards the Terriers a corner, despite Fosu-Mensah shepherding the ball out. It came off a Palace player last. However, the corner comes to nothing.

5'

Palace make their first foray of the match - Patrick van Aanholt surges down the channel, but his cross is easily dealt with by the Huddersfield defence.

3'

Crystal Palace have lost three of their last four opening-day matches in the Premier League.

2'

An early opportunity for Huddersfield as the ball breaks to Tom Ince inside the area, but he shoots straight at Wayne Hennessey. That would have been a DREAM start for the new boys.

The appointment of Frank de Boer has excited the supporters of Crystal Palace, but his ill-fated spell with Inter last season, which only lasted 11 games, has raised questions about the Dutchman’s leadership.

"[I'm not here] to prove people wrong,” he said.

“I knew with Inter that it was quite a hard job but when a chance comes with a major club in the world I'm going to try, even though I knew it would be very difficult.

"They didn't give me enough time so I have to respect that but I'm still confident in my quality."

DID YOU KNOW?

Huddersfield's last top-flight win was in November 1971 against Brian Clough's Derby - they subsequently endured a 22-game winless run.

14:35

Are Huddersfield the biggest underdogs in Premier League history? According to manager David Wagner, they are. But that doesn’t mean the Terriers will lie down and have their tummies tickled this season.

“We said this last season very often, over a long, long time, it's unrealistic for Huddersfield Town to be in the Premier League,” said Wagner.

"I think we've shown that even the impossible is possible in football. Now we have another task in front of us. A difficult task, of course. We are aware but it doesn't change that we are ambitious."

David Wagner's Huddersfield are favourites for the drop
14:30

Huddersfield, meanwhile, have three of their nine new signings in from the start – Jonas Lossl is in nets, hoping to pull the string in midfield is Tom Ince and Steve Mounie spearheads the attack.

14:25

Crystal Palace boss Frank de Boer is in charge for his first competitive match and he has named one debutant in his starting eleven this afternoon - Jairo Riedewald, an £8m signing from Ajax, slots straight into the Eagles' defence.

The 20-year-old previously played for de Boer at the Dutch side, making his first-team debut under him in 2013.
