David Silva scored twice as Manchester City hammered Swansea City 4-0 and set a new Premier League record of 15 consecutive wins.
The away side took a two-goal lead in the first half, with David Silva and Kevin De Bruyne profiting from poor defensive work by Swansea at set pieces.
In the second half, Silva quickly added his second, and Sergio Aguero scored a late fourth, to secure victory for Pep Guardiola, their 16th league win of the season in only 17 games to extend their unbeaten run and reach 52 goals scored.
Swansea had the chance to get out of the bottom three with a win, but instead remain in bottom place in the table after a supine defeat, with Tammy Abraham again dropped to the bench as Paul Clement appears to have run out of ideas.

TALKING POINT

Manchester City now have the reputation of champions. When Manchester United played opponents at the height of their powers, they already had the game half won. United expected victory, and the opposition expected defeat. It has taken Pep Guardiola just a year and a half to get to a similar position with his Manchester City side - Swansea never seemed to believe for a second that they could even get a point.

MAN OF THE MATCH

David Silva (Manchester City): Silva has, at times, been overshadowed by Kevin De Bruyne's emergence at Manchester City, but his goalscoring today proved just how adept he is with the ball at his feet. His first goal was more to being in the right time and place, a skill in itself, but his second was about a deft touch and a calm presence in front of goal.

KEY EVENTS

27' - GOAL! Swansea City 0-1 Mancheter City. Silva scores - A simple goal. City win the ball near City's box, the ball is played on for Bernardo down the right. Again, he cuts onto his left foot, swings a cross into the box. Silva is unmarked, allowing the ball to drop into his path so he can shin past the 'keeper.
34' - GOAL! Swansea City 0-2 Manchester City. De Bruyne scores - From the corner box, De Bruyne curls in a low cross to the near post of the six-yard box. As a horde of players run in, none of them touch it, but are diverting enough to distract Fabianski, as the ball runs to his left.
46' - SILVA CHANCE - The second half gets underway as Aguero slips in Silva after a clever dummy from the Spaniard, and he lifts a left-footed shot just wide of the post.
51' - FABIANSKI SAVE - Bernardo slips in Fernado on the right of the box. He takes a couple of touches, and from a tight angle fires a shot at Fabianski to palm away.
53' - GOAL! Swansea City 0-3 Manchester City. Silva scores - Silva flicks a ball around the corner for Sterling, in behind the defence on the left. Sterling moves forward, clips it inside for Silva - who had carried on his run - and from an impossible angle he scoops the ball into the net.
85' - GOAL! Swansea City 0-4 Manchester City. Aguero scores - Toure looks up, rolls a pass forward for Aguero, 40 yards from goal. He speeds into the box, and from a tight angle drills another shot towards the far corner, and this one finally squeezes in.
