Malouda, 27 tomorrow, has repeatedly stated his desire to move to a club abroad and face a new challenge, and his club have allowed him to leave for a fee of 25 million euros (£17 million).

"I will meet a top official from an English club in the next 48 hours," he was quoted as saying. "Malouda's price is 25 million [euros]."
