Portuguese side Boavista have signed Rivaldinho, son of former of Barcelona and Brazil forward Rivaldo.
The 20-year-old has joined from Brazilian second-tier side Mogi Mirim – the club where his father is currently serving as president.
"Rivaldinho is a striker who possesses good movement and he's a good finisher,” Boavista said in a statement. “Apart from his own qualities, which promise him a great future, he's also the son of Ballon d'Or winner Rivaldo, who needs no introduction."
Rivaldo, who won the Ballon d’Or in 1999, represented Barcelona and AC Milan during an illustrious playing career – which also saw him win the World Cup win Brazil in 2002.
Speaking on Instagram, the 43-year-old said: "At this time my son made the right choice with Boavista FC of Portugal. May God continue to bless him in this new stage of his career. You deserve all the best."
Rivaldinho added: “My new home!!!! Very happy for the opportunity to play for a great team!!!”
