Cesare Prandelli's side could not have got off to a worse start. With barely two minutes on the clock the referee pointed to the spot for a Bonjinov hand ball in the area. Simplicio stepped up to take the penalty and made no mistake.
Parma thought they were well on their way to victory when Bresciano took advantage of an uncertain exit by Fiorentina keeper, Bogdan Lobont, to put the home side 2-0 up.
Bojinov had other plans and he turned the match around in four minutes. His first strike came in the 35th minute when he beat Luca Bucci with a well placed header. In the 39th minute the Bulgarian took advantage of a flick on by Luca Toni to beat Bucci again at the far post.
Parma were unable to recover and immediately after the break they went down a goal when Jorgensen took advantage of traffic in the penalty area to slip the ball into the back of the net.
The final nail in Parma's coffin as far as this match was concerned came in the 68th minute. Luis Jimenez got his knee to a corner kick. The ball took on a strange trajectory and there was not too much Bucci could do about it.
Parma will be disappointed to have wasted a chance to grab some much needed points. Fiorentina meanwhile; overtake AS Roma in fourth place but the Romans will play tomorrow night in the highly anticipated Roma derby against Lazio.
