Shevchenko out for 25 days

Milan and Ukraine striker Andriy Shevchenko picked up an injury on Sunday that will keep him out of action for 25 days. The marksman, who his country will be heavily relying on come this summer's World Cup, will now miss Milan's final game of the season.

The former World Player of the Year is expected to be fit in time for his team's opening Group H game against Spain on June 14, but the layoff could affect his preparations for the tournament.

Shevchenko picked up the injury early on in the game against Parma on Sunday, his club confirming that he had suffered "a sprain and stretching of the medial collateral ligament."
An operation will not be necessary.

The latest news on Zlatan Ibrahimovic's tempestuous relationship with employers Juventus is that he will still be at the Stadio Delle Alpi come next season.

The Swede's agent, who has himself been instrumental in the speculation that his client may leave, claimed the striker now wants to stay with Fabio Capello's side.
"Even if we don't sign a contract extension with Juventus, Zlatan can and wants to remain at this club," Mino Raiola said.
"There have been no requests from other clubs and my client will still be wearing the Bianconeri jersey next term.
"The only way that he will leave the Italian club is if they decide that the time has arrived to sell him."
Ibrahimovic has been involved in a number of controversial incidents this season which have led to speculation he may be on his way out.
Coach Capello and midfielder Patrick Vieira are two who have not seen entirely eye-to-eye with the former Ajax man, but a goal at the weekend seems to have quelled the speculation for the time being.
ASCOLI ON VERGE OF LOSING GIAMPAOLO
Ascoli coach Marco Giampaolo is on the verge of leaving the Serie A club according to his assistant.
The highly rated tactician is currently suspended as he does not currently hold the necessary coaching badges, and his right hand man believes he is close to moving on.

"Marco has already told the President (Roberto Benigni) that he won't be staying at Ascoli,"Massimo Silva said after Sunday's 4-1 loss to Lazio.
"I would like to follow Marco to his next job, but I'm undecided on a number of issues at this moment in time.
"It would be disappointing to leave Ascoli right now as I feel like a part of this town. We'll see what happens."
