Bournemouth target Stephan El Shaarawy will reportedly join Roma for €14 million within the next 48 hours, after AC Milan and AS Monaco confirmed talks were ongoing.
Mediaset Premium claim a deal will be completed by Monday evening for €2m with option to buy for €12m that must be activated after 10 matches.
The Little Pharaoh was originally sent to Monaco on a one-season loan for €3m with an option to buy that would become mandatory after 25 games for another €13m.
However, he made 24 appearances and was then dropped.
“El Shaarawy is not part of the coach’s plans,” Monaco president Vasilyev Vadim said on the club's official website last night.
“We are currently in negotiations for his departure.”
Milan CEO Adriano Galliani also told television reporters that “we are in negotiations with Roma for El Shaarawy.”
