Totti acknowledged that Juventus remain the favourites for another league title after their victory last season.
"We always try to give the most, but we know it's an extremely tough struggle.
"We've got an extremely competitive and strong team in front of us -- Juventus.
"They've proven that in the last five years, but I hope that the coach, the club and the players work to narrow the gap and aim for one of the most important trophies in football.
The veteran is not giving up though, and is looking forward to more success in the 2016/17 season.
"I see beautiful things when I look back on my career. I've won trophies -- some say just a few, but I actually think we won quite a lot. I hope I'll be able to add some more silverware this last season too, although it won't be easy."
Totti talked of Roma's preparations for the forthcoming season under Luciano Spaletti, and his pride over staying at Roma for so many consecutive seasons.
"I know what we are in for here. It's a different preparation than other teams -- it's hard work but it's good work. The workloads are never back-breaking, and we're also smiling a lot.
"It's a special feeling. It's also my 25th consecutive camp with the same team -- which I don't think many other players have done. That's a great source of pride for me. We're all happy to be here and work hard together for Roma."
