Liverpool bid £18m for Paredes

Liverpool have reportedly offered Roma £18m for Leandro Paredes, but coach Luciano Spalletti declared he wants to keep the midfielder.

Paredes already attracted a lot of attention thanks to his performances while on loan at Empoli last season.

Now the Sunday Express claims that Liverpool are prepared to pay £18m (circa €21m) to sign the Argentine.

However, only yesterday Roma coach Spalletti told Sky Sport Italia and Mediaset Premium that he wanted Paredes off the market.

The 22-year-old was very impressive filling in for Daniele De Rossi in the 4-0 Serie A win over Udinese.

While Paredes was on the exit list earlier this summer, the Giallorossi now seem set to keep him, having also rejected offers from Milan.
