Napoli confirmed Poland striker Arkadiusz Milik is out for six months with a ruptured ACL he sustained on international duty.
The 22-year-old sustained the injury in his left knee during last night’s 3-2 win over Denmark.
An initial diagnosis was made in Poland, then he flew to Rome today for a specialist visit at the Villa Stuart clinic.
These tests confirmed there is a complete rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.
It was originally believed to be a partial tear, which would've made the recovery process closer to four months, but Napoli's tests showed the ligament is totally severed.
Milik will undergo surgery tomorrow to stitch the ligament together.
He had a sensational start to his career with Napoli, scoring four Serie A goals in seven games and three Champions League strikes in two appearances.
