West Brom boss Tony Pulis hopes to convince Albion's owners they need fresh firepower for next season.
The Baggies chief has travelled to Guangzhou, China, to speak to owner Guochuan Lai after finishing 10th in the Premier League.
Albion claimed Pulis' first top-flight top-10 finish of his career despite having just two fit strikers all season in Salomon Rondon and Hal Robson-Kanu following Saido Berahino's drugs ban, fitness issues and January move to Stoke.
But eight-goal Rondon scored just once in his final 22 games while Robson-Kanu only netted three times and Pulis knows they need help.
"I hope so," he said, when asked if he would talk to the owners about new signings. " Salomon's been a handful. He's been like that this season and he's played really well again. He's needed a little bit more of a back-up I think and someone who could take the pressure off him.
"Hal's had a hamstring injury the last couple of weeks but when he's come on he's livened it up for us. But we need to strengthen both areas of the pitch for next year.
Albion lost 2-1 at Swansea in Sunday's final game of the season to miss the chance to finish eighth after picking up just two points from their final 27 on offer.
Jonny Evans' opener was cancelled out by Jordan Ayew and Fernando Llorente and Pulis has ended the season deflated.
He added: "The disappointing thing is we've had an opportunity to finish as high as eighth. I know it sounds greedy but I wanted it for the players more than anybody else. They've really worked hard this year.
