Trabzonspor player Salih Dursun was sent off in farcical circumstances on Sunday, after he showed the referee a red card during an ill-tempered match against Galatasaray - one that saw the visitors end up with just seven players on the pitch.

Dursun's dismissal was far and away the most noteworthy, as referee Deniz Bitnel sent him off - presumably for dissent - moments after team-mate Luis Cavanda had been given his marching orders for a professional foul.
After Cavanda had been shown his red card for a clumsy tackle in the box that saw Gala awarded a penalty late in a game that was tied at 1-1, Bitnel dropped his card as he was surrounded by protesting Trabzonspor players. Dursun then saw his opportunity to make his point in no uncertain terms: picking up the card and brandishing it at the referee, pointing to the stands for good measure.
Bitnel, unsurprisingly, did not take the gesture kindly - reclaiming the red card from Dursun and then telling him to join Cavanda in the dressing room.
That actually left Trabzonspor down to seven players for the remainder of the match, after Ozer Hurmaci and defender Aykut Demir had previously both collected two yellow cards in the game at the Turk Telekom Arena.
Nevertheless Galatasaray needed the late penalty that Cavanda's foul conceded to win the game - Selcuk Inan converting from the spot after order had finally been restored to make it 2-1 and seal the points for his side.
This is not the first time this season that Trabzonspor have had issues with referees - in October four match officials were locked in the club's stadium under the orders of club president Ibrahim Haciosmanoglu following a 2-2 draw with Gaziantepspor.
On that occasion the Turkish president, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, had to intervene to see the men released.
